Continue on your quilting journey in Explorations in Quilting! For our next adventure, we will be working on mastering Flying Geese while learning tips and tricks for a perfect Square-in-Square and Half-Square Triangle blocks. Students will be shown a variety of strategies for each of the techniques used in the pattern, and will be encouraged to choose which technique yields the best results for them.
This 8-week course is intended for intermediate and advanced sewists to brush up and fine-tune their skills while experimenting with colors and textures in fabric. This class is also appropriate for an adventurous beginner with quilting experience to come and learn more about the craft while practicing the necessary quilting/sewing foundation skills.
Under the guidance of the instructor, Meg Fahrenbach of Tea + Brie, the class will focus on helping students master the 1⁄4” and scant 1⁄4” seam allowance while working on proper pressing and seam setting techniques. Students will learn how to pay attention to details in order to successfully piece these seemingly complex blocks.
As with all Explorations in Quilting classes, students will be provided with all required information to create a base project (a lap quilt), but are invited/encouraged to develop their own project (tote bag, table runner, pillow, wall hanging, etc. etc.) with help from the instructor for the blocks.
